IProposeWe

"IProposeWe" make HOT Salt Water!

Materials:
  • A small pot
  • A glass
  • Some sort of Water dispensing devise (a faucet)
  • At least one table spoon of salt
  • A stove or hot plate, preferably a stove

Procedure:
1: Pour about 1 cup of water into your pot
2: Then turn your stove on and place the pot on top of the stove
3: In about 4 to 5 minuets take the pot off the stove.
4: You need to fill the glass 3/4 full with water.
5: Take 1 teaspoon of salt and drop it in the water
6: Stir the two together until the final solution looks clear.
7: FINALLY DRINK IT!!!!!................or not

Safety Precautions:
1: Make sure you always have a good grip on the glass, because if it drops it will shatter and break into a lot of sharp pieces.
2: Wear gloves, because when you pour the hot water into the glass you don't want the hot water to spill on your hands and burn you.
3: Make sure you do not spill the salt, because if you do you will bring bad luck on yourself, and no one wants that.....

Scientific Principles: The science in this is the fact the what you end up with is a solution. The water is the solvent and the salt is the solute, that leaves salt water as the solution. Stirring the salt allows the salt to diffuse throughout the water faster, and heating the water up just allows
the salt to diffuse even faster.

SWIM MEET AT M-A

Yesterday the Mills high swim team went to M-A, or mennlo athertin. We knew we were goin to get destroyed, but we were goin to try hard nyway. In the 50 meter freestyle me and my good friend timothy liang got 1st and 2nd, which was AWESOME!!!!!! then in the 200m relay we got third sadly but its okay cuz we were close to beating our time. which is 1:51. Overall the meet went really well and i thought we did really good against a team that is better than us.

David Webb!!

A guest speaker came to our class and showed us all these kool demonstrations, with his equipment. All of them were about vacuums and how they don't suck they create a low pressure system. he was a great speaker, and his experiments such as, the feather and the washer dropping at the same time, were really kool. i got a kool souvener too it was a crushed can. kinda funny. I really enjoyed his demonstrations and it was the highlight of my chemisrty year. PEACE!!

Can Lab

In class we did a lab were we put cold water into an empty can, such as a soda can. There was a large tub of cold water right next to us. Then we heated it up on a hot plate, and right when it started steaming we quickly flipped the can into the cold water and the can crushed itself. it was pretty dang kool. well thats all for now PEACE!!!!!

Energy test

two weeks ago i took the Energy test, which was a fun unit , there were a lot of fun labs that we did but sadly i don't remember most of them. i just know that they were fun.♥ I studied for the test but, again, sadly i was short of an A and settled with a B+. But thats okay i still feel good with what i got. PEACE!!!!!
