Like Dissolves Like

In Chemistry we are learning about dissolving.
Dissolving is when a solute breaks down in a solvent, to create a solution.
"Like Dissolves Like" is a saying, that chemists use to say that "polar" solutes best dissolve in "polar" solvents, and "nonpolar" solutes dissolves best in "nonpolar" solvents. One cool thing we learned was that water is the universal solvent. We are also learning how to find the %, pph, or ppm of a solute, solvent or solution. ITS PRETTY AWESOME i guess...............
