solutions and ph

we are learning about ph levels, i know that ph levels 1-6 are acids and ph levels 8-14 are bases. 7 is neutral, and water has the ph. this seems easy but when we did a lab on it it was sort of challenging, because there were specific directions that you needed to follow or you automatically did it wrong. but it is cool none-the-less..... we also learned how certain color represent certain ph levels. yea so this is what we have a test on tomorrow...PEACE OUT FROM THE CHEESER!!

Like Dissolves Like

In Chemistry we are learning about dissolving.
Dissolving is when a solute breaks down in a solvent, to create a solution.
"Like Dissolves Like" is a saying, that chemists use to say that "polar" solutes best dissolve in "polar" solvents, and "nonpolar" solutes dissolves best in "nonpolar" solvents. One cool thing we learned was that water is the universal solvent. We are also learning how to find the %, pph, or ppm of a solute, solvent or solution. ITS PRETTY AWESOME i guess...............
